What do YOU DO in front of the T.V.??
Do you find it difficult to stick to your goals when watching t.v.? I did! I grew up in a family that made daily use of t.v. trays. We NEVER ate at a dining room table!!! Our diet was greasy, salty, and we always ate while watching a movie on t.v. To this day, I still associate comfort and camaraderie with t.v. and food.
When I made a conscious effort to commit myself to a healthier lifestyle, I thought I had to give up t.v. to do it. I wasn't ready to give up my occasional t.v. indulgence so I bought a spin bike and planted it in front of the t.v!! It was a great solution. I play little games with myself while watching The Biggest Loser or a D-back game. While the show is on, I am pedaling modestly but when a commercial comes on, I pedal vigorously. Sometimes the commercials really burn me out!!

I do a lot of mindless eating...in my car, watchin' tv, in front of the computer. I should be more aware of how much and when I eat. I also tend to eat late at night after a long day. I use food for comfort.

Ralph,
Mindless eating is a problem for most of us. I chew gum while driving...........Are you suffering from excess weight? Is that why you think you should be aware of how much you eat and when? What are your fitness goals? I am here to help. :)Christine

I don't spend a lot of timein front of the TV but when I am, I am relaxing and enjoying the show. Not much eating so I guess that is not a problem.

Dave,
YOU ROCK!! Just the fact that you lost 13 lbs. in less than a month shows that passive activities like watching T.V. are not as important to you as taking better care of yourself. You are an inspiration to all of us!!
